Question about using 2 non SLI GPUs

So, I am planning on getting the new RTX 2060 when it releases. I don't want to put my 1050 ti to waste, and have it just sit doing nothing, so I was wondering if I could still use it. Is it possible to have the 1050 ti run the desktop and the 2060 run games? I have a Ryzen 7 1800x so it does not have the integrated graphics processor. I also have a laptop that has a dedicated GPU and an integrated chip and the AMD R7 that is in it will run programs but the Intel HD Graphics will run the desktop and Google Chrome and all that stuff. So, is it possible to set up the 1050 ti to run other stuff? Or should I try to stick it in something else?

There is only negatives for doing such a thing, not that you can. All you'd do is burn more energy. Give the 1050ti to a family member or friend.
