You know those two separate wire things that come with a graphics card? I think they're called adapters but I'm not sure. Do you need them to make the card function? (I'm a newbie when it comes to computers)

Solution
Graphics cards often come with molex to 6pin adaptors, but most modern power supplies should have 6/8 pin connectors - if your PSU doesn't, then you should really look at buying a new one. Some GPUs come with display adapters (e.g. dvi to vga connectors) that you only need to use if you have an old monitor. Normally, though, all you should need to run the GPU is the GPU itself.
