Question.. GPU & Win 8

Does windows 8 automatically detect if there is a gpu in the pci express 16 slot and if there is one will it automatically switch from onboard graphics to your external one?
Also i cannot find how to get onto my bios..
I do not have 'UEFI'
I have tried turning hybrid sleep off reseting my pc still no message displayed on how to get to my bios..
any help?

Win8 don't automatically detect that, you need to go to the BIOS to set it up. For most newer computer, you need press the "delete" key when the computer boot up, for some you need press F2 or F12, but check the computer manual.
