[question] How to PROPERLY Disable, Uninstall, & Remove CORTANA in Windows 10 WITHOUT Registry Edits!

It seems kinda strange the user would disable commentary and there are no thumbs ups or thumbs downs for his video tutorial.

You can't disable Cortana without mucking around in the registry now. Sorry, but there currently is no other way. Previously, it could be done, but subsequent updates have done away with the previous ability to disable Cortana.

You could ignore Cortana. I have never used it and never gave it one second of thought. I don't see it anywhere so out of sight, out of mind.

I have mine disabled/ignored as well. But there are some people who really don't like the idea of an always-on always-listening device. They worry about stuff like the recent case where the police got a warrant asking Amazon to turn over any audio that migh've been recorded by the Amazon Echo device in a home where a murder occurred.

If you're that worried about Cortana, you could just unplug any microphones. Though I suppose that could be a problem if you Skype or play multi-player games with voice comms.

(Not to imply that you want to cover up a murder. Simply stating that I can understand some people's desire for privacy, and wanting the peace of mind of knowing there isn't a voyeur at Microsoft listening to everything going on in their home while the computer is on.)
