Hello - my 3 year old 1080Ti is doing a good enough job but I would love to experience the magic of RTX and hardware driven Ray Tracing. I wanted to buy/build a 2080Ti based rig but then I learnt that a 3080 series could be launched by Q4. Given the hefty investment on a 2080Ti Rig TODAY - I was wondering if the rig I built or purchased today will be able to lift and hoist a 3080Ti in place of 2080Ti with no changes to the underlying - like motherboard/power/cooling?

If the answer to Purchase option above is YES - could someone point to some example of Gaming PC rigs out there (amazon perhaps?) I could look at?

Solution
Apparently nvidia will be announcing stuff about the 30 series on May 14. The 1080 ti is still a hella good card dude. No, it doesn’t have all the rtx goodness. However, it’s still the 8th best card in the world! I would wait for the 3080 ti because it will have rtx and even the 3060 could apparently be 4x better than the 2080 ti. I’ll get back to you after the announcement (if I remember lol)
