I was watching "Brrite09" on You Tube. He stated, if I am not mistaken that if one pays MS $30.00, they can keep Windows 10 and get security updates. Is that true? Thanks.

Yes, AUSU Z590. Just need to enable the TPM 2.0. Just nervous about doing it. I think, I'll loose my picture, documents, etc, everything on my computer if I upgrade. I don't thin it like when I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 and was able to keep all settings. The other day, I enabled TPM 2.0, No problem, Next tried to activate Secure Boot, Major problem Spent 3 hours on the phone with Asus to fix my Bios. This was before installing Windows 11. It's a catch 22, Cant's install windows 11 unless you have a secure boot activated, which you can't do.

As with ANY major upgrade, you NEED a known good full backup.
Both your personal files (doc/pics/etc) and a full drive backup of the C drive.
Just in case.

An inplace upgrade from 10 to 11 usually goes fine.
Usually.

Prepare for the rare instance when it fails.

However you get there, upgrading the OS should NOT result in loss of data.
Whether an inplace upgrade, or fresh OS install, or whatever....

Your personal data should be copied elsewhere and offline during this process.
