A while ago I decided to buy a new graphics card, but I had some issues with installation. After a lot of troubleshooting the problem seems to come down to the graphics card being incompatible with my BIOS, and it is far too late to return it.

Motherboard Model: 084J0R
BIOS: A11 (updated)
CPU: Intel i5 3330
Operating system: Windows 8.1 (updated)
Current Graphics: Intel Integrated

The card I bought is a gtx 960.

I was wondering what BIOS would work, or if i should look at a different motherboard all together.

To answer your original question, there is no "other BIOS" you can get. Even if two MBs are very close, the BIOS is made for that specific MB only. There's some tooling around people have done with modding a BIOS to give them updated features, but that's a whole new ballgame. The only thing you can do is update to the latest BIOS for that board, and then check settings (EFI Compatible ROM to Legacy, secure boot, Primary Display). You can also clear the CMOS and try again.

Well, you can't change the BIOS to anything other than a newer version of what is produced by the manufacturer.

What version is yours, and is there a newer one that specifically addresses that GPU?

he said a11 and that is the highest he can get. it also dosnt support uefi from what i see

Thanks for the help! I thought i saw some articles about changing the bios chip, but they were probably just for physically installing an upgraded version of the original bios chip.

I suppose at this point I'll either need to buy a new mobo or try to find a different graphics card and save the one I have for a future computer or something.

I did try changing secure boot and all those settings in my BIOS, but the computer never ran normally.

And yeah, there's no real settings to change graphics card or other such things from what I can tell, unless I just cant find the settings for it. My BIOS is very limited.

thats dell for you and i would get a differnt mobo you have to get a older gpu to work and a mobo isnt that expencive
