Question regarding my multiplier. Plz help

I overclocked my computer about 2 weeks ago from E6300 up to 2.625 and it has been running stable ever since. But recently, when I look at CPU-Z, my multiplier would change from 6 to 7 then back 6, and back and forth. I set the FSB to be 1600, but I don't understand why the multiplier would keep changing. If it's on 7, my comp would run at 2.625, and if it's on 6, then my comp would run at 2.225. I tried to change the multiplier on BIOS to 7 again, but it happened again, I was wondering if any of you could offer me any suggestions? Thanks, oh btw, my motherboard is ASU P5N-E SLI
