Question with CPU pls

hello guys! i'm just curious, if you can see the photo, is it normal for my Task Manager to show just 2 cores?

i was kinda expecting it to show 4

im also using an AMD A8 7600

Yep it's normal. I also have an a8 7600.

Cause even though technically AMD's older APU architectures allowed a8s to have 4 cores, they can't always operate as 4 distinct cores. AMD calls them modules, so you have two cores in each module and because both cores share so much information with each other they can't fully operate as individual cores all the time. Very similar to hyper-threading.

oh i see. because i was about to change the setting found on msconfig. the box there that says "processors" is unticked, was about to check that then set it to 4
