Hi. I don't know if this is the appropriate newsgroup to post this
question, but I have no other idea as to where to post it. So, I'm hoping
maybe someone can help me here.

When I go to do a search (such as on Google, or on my Excite Homepage) or
even when I fill out a form online, I put in the first one or two letters of
my name or the key word I'm searching for, and a list of all the other
searches I've conducted that match those same letters appears. ( I guess so
I can just scroll down and click on that search in case I'm searching for
the same thing this time). Is there a way to get rid of those? I'd rather
not have everyone who uses my computer know what searches I've conducted.

In Internet Explorer:

Tools/internet options/content/"auto complete"/clear forms clear passwords.
See if that helps.

That is probably a function of whatever browser you are using and would
be stored in perhaps a history or a form database. I suspect you are
using IE, so I can't help, but you need to post what browser you are
using for specifics.

Not saying it will work in all cases, but every time I've tried
it somewhere one of these has worked. First I try just using the
delete key on a highlighted drop-down item that I want to get rid
of. If that doesn't work, I try right clicking on the
highlighted item to see if I'm presented with a delete option on
the resulting menu, and click on it if I am. As I say, so far
one or the other has worked every time I've tried them.

If you Google on "google clearing search" you will get the answer.

Highlight entry, hit "delete" key.
