Hello

I have a Dell XPS 420 with 667mhz DDr2 memory. I have a Q6600 cpu. The Dell motherboard's system bus is limited to 6400 DDR 2 (800mhz) memory max.

With playing games and doing tasks, will upgrading to the 6400 DDR2 memory be worth upgrading to?

I am running windows 8 and have 4gigs of the 667mhz memory.

It is not worth to upgrade to the 800MHZ ram, because they have almost same performances. Read the review, even though it is old. http://www.anandtech.com/show/1982/9
And you have the 4GB RAM then it is more than enough for most usage. Also I have the link for the detail " Is It Time To Add More RAM?" http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ram-memory-upgrade,2778-8.html
I check the Dell XPS 420 specs and the 4GB is maximum. If you want to upgrade the PC, get the intel 3rd generation processors for games.
