Questions about building my pc?

I currently own a custom pc from pcspecialists but I want to upgrade the cpu, which needs a new motherboard, which needs a new psu, etc. So I'm just buying a whole new pc from scratch; getting all the components separately. I just have a few specific questions about some ideas I have (if they'll work) and some potential incompatibilities.

1. My current pc has an SSD with Windows 10, games and applications, and an HDD which just has files and applications. I'm prepared to do a clean install of Windows 10 on the SSD and wipe everything that's on the drive. I'm wondering if I plug in this SSD (as is) into my new pc as my main drive, will Windows 10 prompt a clean install or would it blue screen and need some external installation process? And I'm aware of and prepared for all the reactivation stuff so no need to explain any of that.

2. Continuing on from question 1, can I plug in my HDD into my new pc without needed to format it or make any changes? And can I plug the HDD in while I'm building the pc or will it be smarter to only plug it in after I've set up my new pc and installed windows?

3. On pcpartspicker I wanted a 'Cooler Master Hyper 212X CPU Cooler' and a 'Gigabyte X470 Aorus' motherboard but it was saying as a potential issue that the cooler may not fit the motherboard correctly and may hence need a 'separately available mounting adapter'. It seemed to say this for any cpu cooler I picked so... Is this actually going to be an issue or does pcpartspicker say this for all cpu coolers regardless?

4. How necessary are extra case fans? With a Ryzen 7 1800X cpu, a cpu cooler, an existing case fan and a GTX 1080, would anyone recommend more case fans? Not planning on ever overclocking. My room can get quite hot in the summer (around 25-30 celcius) though I don't tend to use my current pc when it's this hot and, it being England it's usually no hotter than 20.

5. Out of curiosity, what would be the best way to go about selling my current pc? I'm thinking ebay, but not sure if to sell if part by part, or as a whole. The drawback of the former is that I may end up stuck with some parts no one wants and could potentially get more selling it as a whole. On the other hand, I'm not sure how to go about postage if collection isn't an option. Are there special ways to send out pcs? For the heck of it specs are: AMD fx-8350, gtx 1060 6gb, 2x8gb ram, 450w psu, will have no disk drives. Most components are 25 months old and seem to be in perfect working condition, but the gpu is younger at about 22 months. I've never overclocked, I take breaks often and never game for more than 3 hours straight in a day, if I did game at all. Otherwise it's just general use, game development in Unity, etc. For about 2-8 hours a day.
I think I'll just offer collection only anyway but I would like some input on this from anyone with experience selling an old pc.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

If you are not into overclocking, the stock cooler would suffice.

I think you can reuse ur psu, case, storage and gpu. I have faith in ur psu since it powered ur 8350 till now.

Or if you want a new psu ...

The x470 motherboards will have a premium price over the x370s for a while. If you are using an 1800x CPU you don't HAVE to go to an x470 motherboard. The 212X coolers are OK and pretty cheap but there are definitely better coolers available for not much more $$$.
Most coolers have the AM4 socket adapters included now. That socket has been out for a year, so boxed coolers should be OK. Cooler choice is as much about the case you are using as the socket. Cooler height is the area that you need to be concerned with.

For the motherboard I've found a really cheap x470 on box.co.uk (£129) and the website seems to be perfectly legit so I might actually just go with it. Regarding the cooler, any you can recommend for the £25-£40 price range? Found a MSI Core Frozr L, recommend this one?
As for the cooler height there haven't been any flags popping up on pcpartspicker so I'm assuming either cooler is suitable (for the case: BitFenix - Nova ATX Mid Tower Case).

Or if you want a new psu : https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/9G7wrH/xfx-power-supply-p1650bbefx

Case : https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/zMVBD3/cooler-master-masterbox-5-white-atx-mid-tower-case-mcx-b5s2-wwnn-01

U can use ur hdd as it is, no problems. Better to do a fresh install of windows 10 in ur ssd. So yes, wipe it and link ur Microsoft account beforehand.

Apparently the cooler doesn't have AM4 socket support so I may need a new one. Found an MSI Core Frozr L, should do the trick?

I might indeed wait to upgrade my GPU, and I can hold onto my PSU then if you think; it's a Corsair VS 450W one, apparently it's not the best for gaming but I've never had any troubles with it and it should handle my build idea. In case I do get a new one I'm considering: https://www.scan.co.uk/products/550w-corsair-tx-m-series-tx550m-psu-80plus-gold-hybrid-modular-single-rail-43a-plus-12v-120mm-fan-at?v=c

Really appreciate the legwork of finding those items in shops! For the ryzen it's currently cheaper on Amazon Prime so I'll buy it there if anything. Might indeed just upgrade parts then.

Also, would you recommend that Night Hawk RAM over this one?: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0123ZCD36/?tag=pcp0f-21

So yeah, while the PSU and CPU Cooler might not necessarily need to be changed, how much longer do you think they'd last me? They are ~25 months old like I said so if I can hold onto them then I will. Though I do think a new cooler is necessary. Can't find my stock one (Titan Quiet Dragonfly or something) on pcpartspicker.

No, by stock cooler, I meant the cooler that comes with the cpu. Yes, u read it right. 2700X comes bundled with a cooler.

I recommended the nighthawk cuz of rgb. If you don't want it, u can go with the corsair.

While the txm 550w might be enough for a single 8 pin 150w gpu, u would be better off with the dual 8 pin 650w xfx psu for ur future 250w beefy video cards. It's 10 quid more. And I say it's worth it.

And I am surprised that the vs 450 held good this long. Maybe cuz u never tried overclocking ur cpu, gpu. And that I think saved ur psu and ur other components.

Ah didn't even notice you recommended a different cpu. So, 2700x over the 1800x? Especially if it comes with a cooler, definitely much more worth it. Curious as to why the 2700x is down from £329 on amazon and the 1800x is down from £465 if it's weaker and doesn't come with a cooler.

I'll keep that PSU in mind then, will probably get one at a later date, most likely when Nvidia's new stuff comes out soon.
Yeah I've never over-worked any of my components and take breaks, etc.

Okay so I'm going with a Ryzen 7 2700X, Gigabyte x470 Motherboard, Night Hawk 2x8GB RAM and the XFR XTR 650W PSU. I'll just upgrade my GPU at some point down the line, maybe a new case as well.

Any light on question 4? Regarding extra case fans? I currently use the PCS DOMINATOR 6806B case from PCSpecialist, hopefully that'll hold me.

If this is ur case, 2 front intakes, 1 rear exhaust and 1 top exhaust would do.

1. you'll have to do a fresh install of windows as you will be replacing considerable number of parts. When you plug in the USB drive with the win10 installation media on the new comp and after a reboot/power on (after you tell it to set USB as the first boot order) you will be prompted.

2. When doing a windows install, always unplug everything but the SSD that you are installing win 10 into. plug the other HDD/SSD after win 10 has been installed.
