Questions about Case Fans.

I am going to buy a new power supply later and wanted to change my Case fans (I have 2 intake fans both don't exceed 350rpm, and 1 exhaust 1000-1300 rpm)

I can't change their speeds (tried on HWmonitor but I couldn't )

Looking for cheep but good fans.

Specs :
Gigabyte G1 Z97
Power supply : Either EVGA GQ 650w or Seasonic M12II 620w

(1) Do all fans connect to the motherboard ?
I was looking at my exhaust fan and followed the cable to my old power supply and not to the motherboard .

(2) How can I change the fans speed?

get a fan controller for the fans. I have a front panel fan controller with 4 fan connections that I control the speed for, and it also has 2 USB 3 connectors and card reader. I paid about $25 for it.

1. There are numerous boards that fit Gigabyte G1 Z97 ... Gaming 3, Gaming 5, Gaming 7 ... Z97N and each may have varying capabilities


2. The Gaming 3 for example has:

1 x CPU fan header - connect CPU cooler here
1 x water cooling fan header (CPU_OPT)
3 x system fan headers - Connect each of your 3 case fans to these headers.

-You do not need a fan controller unless you want to add more fans.

-The MoBo manual will describe how to control fans via BIOS

-The fan headers on almost all Z97 boards can control either PWM or DCV fans from their 4 pin headers

-Your MoBo driver CD includes a fan control utility for which you can create fan curves to your liking in Windows.
