Hello!

I have a few questions about my current build, and my future build. My current build is the following:
CPU: AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core.
GPU: Radeon HD 7950
RAM: 2x Kingston KHX1600C10D3/8GX 8GB (16G total)
Motherboard: GA-990XA-UD3

I am going to upgrade my GPU (Radeon HD 7950) to the upcoming Radeon FX 480 once released. Is my CPU (AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core) strong enough for the new GPU upgrade? Will I experience any bottlenecking on certain games with this new upgrade, or will I be fine?

If I shouldn't need any upgrades on my current build for my new Radeon FX 480, I am definitely going for a full upgrade on the rest of my parts (CPU, RAM + MOBO) around Christmas. Is there anything I should know about buying the newer CPUs, RAM + MOBOs on the market together? For example, with the newer CPUs on the market, would I need a certain type of RAM (DDR3/DDR4)? Would I need a certain type of MOBO? I'm just trying to learn the connection between the newer GPUS, MOBOs and RAM. I already know about CPU / MOBO sockets. Also, if possible, do you perhaps have any idea about certain CPU, RAM + MOBO (either single og combo) suggestions for my new Christmas build? A few examples wouldn't hurt, and preferably something that gives good "Bang for the buck".

Thank you for reading my questions! I hope to learn something new, and possibly set up a list for future build from your answers!

Fx 8350 will be definitely a bottleneck for rx480. As per the leaked benchmarks, Rx480 is faster than Gtx980. But you need not worry, since fx 8350 is still powerful cpu, and the bottleneck won't be huge. fx8350+rx480 will still give much better performance than your current setup.

Since you are going for a new cpu+mobo in the coming holidays, let us know your budget so that we can give you a better 'bang for the buck' setup

Don't forget RAM upgrade as well, not just CPU + MOBO. My budget would be maximum 450-500 EU for those 3 together
