Hi,

My questions are:

How many SATA drives can be connected to each SATA port?

If I have 2 SATA drives connected to the 2 SATA ports [ie 1 to each
port] can I still use PATA drives [HDD or CD] connected to the 2 x IDE
connectors?

******************************************************

I have an ASUS P4C800 deluxe running Windows XP SP 2 and 4 x SCSI
drives [2 x 9Gb and 2 x 16 Gb].
One of the SCSI drives is beginning to give write errors and I feel
that a move to ATA drives would be the right thing to do because of
what I see as the big price advantage in terms of cost/Gb.

The P4C800 deluxe has 2 x IDE connectors so I assume that 4 HDDs can
be connected. However the P4C800 deluxe also has 2 x SATA connectors.
I am not clear how many HDDs can be connected or in what formation.

Thanks

One drive per SATA port. The P4C800 Deluxe can support 10 hard drives
if all ports are used.
Primary IDE port (Master + Slave)= 2
Secondary IDE port (Master + Slave)=2
SATA1=1
SATA2=1
SATA_RAID1=1
SATA_RAID2=1
PRI_RAID=2
