I've got a few questions about Rambus memory and the i850 motherboard.
On the i850 motherboards I understand that there are 2 memory banks with 2 sockets each.
Now, you have to have identical pairs in each bank and identical speeds if you use both banks (but not identical size or density between banks).
My question is: can you use PC800 Non-ECC Rambus pairs in one bank and PC800 ECC Rambus pairs in the other? or is this breaking the speed rule?
Also, what is the advantage (if any) of using ECC rambus?
Thanks!
