How much of a difference would i see if i upgraded to a 970? Currently I'm playing DA:I on custom settings somewhere between high and medium i believe and max out around 60 fps but I've dipped to something like 35 fps depending on the area. Don't know for sure since I'm at work. I'm looking to play future games like the Witcher 3 as well. So I'm just curious as to what my options would be and results would be. I do video work as well, so sticking with Nvidia is preferred.

Current Specs
- GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD3H LGA 1155 Intel Z77
- Intel 3770k
- Nvidia 660ti
- 32gb
- hx850
- 2 1080p monitors for computer work plus 55in plasma for movies and such. Only game on one monitor. Probably won't change anytime soon

Solution
that may also be due to bad optimizing buy nvidia or bioware,
i have a 650ti B and i never go below ~30-35 on 900p on high settings.
and im worried about withcer 3 too!!
but if u can play fine right now why upgrade?? 35 fps is just fine if u ask me.
i say wait for the game to come out, a few drivers and i think 660ti would give u 30 fps for TW3 for sure.
and if it dosen't THEN u should think about upgrade, the card will be a lil cheaper too by then.
I say hold out for now your card is still pretty stellar!
or even save up for a 980!!

Solution

I can respect that, but personally, i like to have a solid 60fps. It just looks better to me. And i like to have my graphics set as high as possible. And while I thought about going the 980 route, I'm pretty sure its overkill for single monitor 1080p gaming.
