Here is my question about graphics card: what is the difference between today's high-end cards and those PRO-cards?
As for my dream machine, it is still not technologically ready. I just want a PC everything 10~20 times faster than my old build: a p4 2.4GHZ system.
I don't think we can write multi-thread software for every application (correct me if i am wrong), so higher Ghz maybe still needed.
questions:
what is the limit of CMOS technology? by quantum physics there must be a limit. smaller than that, a structure will not make it operable as a device needed. so what is that limit? 32nm seems still possible. how about 16nm?
will future CPU use BiCMOS or BJT to get over say 20Ghz?(BJT demo showed can run above 500Ghz)
is there a future mass-storage technology to promise a <500us access time? or how about a data transfer speed >6GB/sec?
what is the current stage of optical computing?
i maynot reply your answers/comments. Thanks in advance.
