Hey guys,

So I decided to go with 8gb of memory, but my Asus P5N-D motherboard doesn't have many 2g sticks on the Qualified Vendor List in the manual. When I looked up the ones that are supported, they seem to be pretty old models. I was wondering if I bought one of the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227291 packs for example, if my motherboard would outright object the sticks, or if there was something I could do to make it compatible?

Thanks!

seems pricey but you should look at the motherboards specs.
is this your motherboard? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131232

if it is, then read the specs page and find memory. it states: Memory Standard: DDR2 800 Mhz.
the ram runs at 800 Mhz and is ddr2, so i would say YES, that ram should run on your motherboard, i dont see why not.
also the memory must be 240- pin and the RAM is 240 pin so i dont see why not
