[SOLVED] Quick Bottleneck Question

Aside from wasting money, is there any harm using a way too powerful graphics card with a weak PSU? Assuming the PSU is capable, of course.

Oh, it just dawned on me... Performance concerns? You mean the gpu won't reach its potential I presume. Not that it will slow down the performance of the rest of the system, right?

It's impossible for something to be more powerful and slow down another component. There are instances where a setup like this will have worse performance than a low end gpu but that's because the gpu is bottlenecked. But don't interpret that as the cpu is slowing down the gpu because it's not. There's a difference between slowing it down and not letting it use its performance.
