I have search the www for comparisons och calculators and watched youtube videos for various sources but I just can not decide what I should do in my specific case.

I am a gamer but I also want to be able to do some recording while gaming. I haven't got the money to buy a new computer so I need to know: What should I upgrade? My own thought was a rx 5600 xt. Is that overkill if I cant aford upgrading the cpu...

My curent PC:
Gtx 1060 3gb
Ryzen 5 1600
16 gb ram

You can definitely pair your Ryzen 5 1600 and 5600XT, the bottleneck is less than 15%, and if you OC your cpu to 4GHZ even that 15 percent will vanish, so its not a problem, people are pairing with even 5700XT, so go ahead and buy. since its a 12 thread CPU you dont need to worry.

I own a Ryzen 5 3600 and i intend to keep this processor for an another 3 years atleast, so i would do the same and get my self a RTX 3000 series card in future, and i heard that 5700XT has driver issues upon its release it should have been solved by now, so you can buy it. now you can also but the 1660ti a bit cheaper than a 5700XT

I would try what you have first without upgrading anything. You can use shadowplay. Buy a separate hard drive to record to you don't record to the same drive the game is on.
