When upgrading to a P5KC MoBo I got some new Corsair DDR2 memory, (2 x 1GB). The place had 2 versions, 5-5-5-15 and 4-4-4-12. Now I know enough to know that 4-4-4-12 is better then the other, so I got that as it was only a shade more expensive. I think it requires manual setting in the BIOS.

The BIOS has a whole load of things one can change in the memory. Would I be right in assuming that I set:

CAS# Latency = 4
RAS# to CAS# Delay = 4
RAS# Precharge = 4
RAS# Activate to Precharge = 12

The other things all seem to default to "Auto" rather then numbers.

but if you tweak the ones that say auto but, once you decide what speed is best to run the memory at ofcourse. You will get a big boost guranteed. You will have to see which ones actually like being touched though and by how much and what not.
