Quick ODD Question

Can I use a USB 3.0 to SATA adapter cable to connect my internal Blu-ray drive to the rear panel USB 3.0 port on my motherboard? The Blu-ray drive will be powered by a SATA power connector from my PSU.

I think it should be fine yeah (no reason it shouldn't work as both are serial data interfaces it shouldn't be a problem). It may increase access times etc. but for a optical drive you probably won't even notice.

Perfect, thank you. My motherboard only has two SATA ports and both are currently occupied with a SSD and HDD.

americanbrian, just noticed the SATA connecter on this cable includes the power connection, so I won't be able to plug it into the USB 3.0 port and the SATA power connector on my PSU at the same time:
