I keep reading places that people use two instances of prime95 to test the temperature under load, yet one of the stickies I read said you only needed to use one..

Whats the correct thing to do?

With a quad core, you need 4 instances.

Just a minute, let my crank up the other box ...

Ok. It looks like with a dual core, you need two instances - at least, the way my system is configured.

CPU cores are going to be numbered "0" and "1" for a dual core system and "0" , "1", "2", and "3" for a quad core system.

Okay so two threads then,

Also, what kind of torture test is recommended for testing CPU temperatures, blend, Small FFTs, or in place large FFTs?

tried using blend and my CPU cores didnt go anywhere near 100% but at small ffts and large ffts they hit 100% immediately

which one of those do I use?
