Hey guys, first time posting.

I recently bought a WD MY BOOK 4TB newest model and have gotten scared about losing my data if my enclosure dies due to some software/hardware encryption bullshit.

Do you guys think if I should remove the harddrive from MY BOOK and reformat it to remove the encyption, and then use one these docking stations or even get new internal harddrive and use it with docking station instead.

I understand losing data due to dead harddrive but i dont wanna lose data to some bullshit encryption due to My BOOK's enclosure dying.

Solution
That enclosure could have a custom drive connection to the drive which will prohibit use in another enclosure. You should check with WD support before doing anything to the drive. And you should have backups of the data anyway on another drive in case this one dies. Keeping single copies of your files, especially on an external drive is not a good idea as many people find out too late.
