I have 32GB of RAM in my system, and just by running chrome, and some other small things, I count an approximate RAM usage of 5-6 GB. However, the taskmasters displays a 45-50% RAM usage, but I count nowhere near that number...?

Any ideas?

Taskmasters?

Do you mean Task Manager?

"I count an approximate RAM usage of 5-6 GB"......can you clarify what you mean by that? Count from where, adding up what exactly?

A screen shot of the performance tab of Task Manager would help.......hardware reserved, available, committed, cached, etc.

Since Windows 10 the OS keeps things in memory that it would have previously written off to the swap file or discarded. So it will use the memory as long as you don't have another need for it.

Unless you are actually running out of memory you can ignore it. It is being used to improve system responsiveness.
