Hello :)
I'm planning to pair an R7 1700 and 16gb of TridentZ RGB (8x2).
Will it work fine?
And how much will I be able to OC the ram?
(For now I plan to OC the CPU to 3.6Ghz, And the ram to 3200mhz)

Solution

If you buy a 3200mhz kit, then yes you can.

If you buy a 2400mhz kit then no you cant, if it clocked upto...

Depends on if the motherboard supports that RAM, im using that config right now, 1700 with 3200mhz GTZR, working fine on an MSI motherboard, as for overclocking it, make sure you buy a kit with the speeds you want to reach, theres no point buying a 2400mhz kit and expecting it to reach 3200mhz.

I'm going with asrock mb which can use up to 3200mhz.
But... Can't I manually overclock the ram to 3200 from 2400?
._.

If you buy a 3200mhz kit, then yes you can.

If you buy a 2400mhz kit then no you cant, if it clocked upto 3200mhz then G.Skill would of sold it as a 3200mhz kit and made themselves some more money.

its called binning, all DDR4 chips start at 2133mhz, known as JEDEC standard, they are then factory overclocked, and sold at whatever speed they could safely reach, so a 2400mhz kit was the rubbish overclockers, binned in to the low end bin, 3200mhz a pretty good and binned into the decent overclocking bin, and 4266mhz for are the amazing overclockers and stuck into that bin, they them make the kits out of then and sell them at the specified price, which is why you pay more for the faster kits.

You can, but only upto there rated speed, so 2400mhz will only do 2400mhz, 3200mhz depending on which CL you buy will only do 3200mhz.

Yes it should work, loads of people are using those kits, but id advise you to check out the QVL for the motherboard.
