r9 280 DD BE 3gb to rx 480 8gb worth it?

so i have a xfx r9 280 DD black edition 3gb and it seems to really be struggling with most games. is it worth it for me to upgrade to the rx 480 8gb at this time. if so what one is a good one to get. i have fallout 4 and skyrim SE and i cant play them on max. i can get 60 fps at the starting areas but when i move into town(fallout) or the wilderness(skyrim) it tanks down in the 20fps any help would be good. this will be my first upgrade
my cpu is fx 8350 i know its not great il upgrade it eventually.

It will be an improvement, for sure. But I don't know if it will be enough to justify the cost unless you have a buyer for the old card. Tom's Hierarchy chart places the 480 2 tiers above the 280. They suggest a 3 tier move to justify the upgrade.
