Hello,

Since a few days im getting alot of crashes with this card (see screenshots)
I have tried with both the latest official drivers and the beta drivers but that does not seem to matter.
The problems have become worse since i installed a fresh windows 8.1
Before i could play battlefield 4 for hours straight but now it crashes after like 5 minutes.
It also crashes in benchmark such as furmark and unigine heaven.
These are my PC specs:
Asus Crosshair V Formula/ThunderBolt
AMD FX-8320 @ 4.2
R9 280x Gigabyte
8GB Kingston hyperx 1866
Corsair TX650M
Any thoughts?

Edit: I do not have my receipt anymore, could i still RMA the card if it is broken to Gigabyte?

Solution
try to re seat psu connections and see if it is flush with the mobo in the pcie slot. also try it in a different pcie slot and see if you have the same issues

Thanks for your answer, will try that as soon as i get home.

Heya,
So unfortunately the problem still have not gone away.
I have already placed a ticked at gigabytes support for an RMA, im almost certain it is the GPU that is causing these problems (never had this with my old GPU)

I just tried my old GPU, no problems what so ever.
Could it be that my PSU is causing these problems?
I will switch graphics cards with my girlfriend tomorrow, see if it hapens if the gpu is installed in her computer.

if you install the gpu in her setup and she has a psu good enough to handle it then it could be the psu but this is unlikely. and since you have tried your old gpu and it runs fine with the same monitor/cable/mobo it rules those out. most likely it is a failing gpu

For some reason my card did not work in het setup, her card did work in mine, played around a bit and have not seen any crashes or glitches.
Also take a look at this:
I turned on the drawgraph in battlefield 4 to monitor the CPU and GPU usage. While playing a map, everytime that screen on the 1st picture of my 1st post pops up the CPU usage goes nuts but the GPU usage stays the same.
That glitchy screens pops up when flying through smoke and fire and will eventually crash when to much stuff is going on ...

yea that is a problem with bf4 unparking cores and doing some cfg file editing usually fixes the crazy cpu usage. but as for your problem i would say its a faulty card as it is happening all the time. and since you tried it in her setup and it didnt work and her card did work in your setup it is most likely the card. what was her card? if it is a higher end card like the 280x then the power consumption would be comparabe and rule out the psu. also if the display errors are happening while the card is in idle like in desktop apps or skype and such most likely it isnt the psu as the power consumption on the card would be much lower.

Her card is a HD6950.
After playing some dota 2 this evening (yes that game does work) the video card did not glitch out. But when I closed the game my desktop started glitching out! So like you said already its most likely not the PSU. I will get a new GPU next week and report back here!
Thanks alot for all the help so far! :)
