R9 280x + gtx 970?

Hi, i already have the R9 280x, and im thinking of getting the gtx 970. If i plug in both in my motherboard, and then connect a second monitor to the gtx 970, will it work? i won't be doing any dual screen for gaming (run a game on 2 separate monitors) i will run each application separately on each monitor. Sorry for sloppy English...

Would it be possible to run for example counter strike on one card and one monitor and minecraft on the other card and on the other monitor? (CS:GO + right monitor + gtx 970 / Minecraft + left monitor + r9 280x)

No, its no possible. You cant have both cards pluged in. You can plug both monitors to your 970 then play what you want on one or the other.
