Hey, I just got a new gpu today so I instantly replaced my old R9 270x with this new one. Once in I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the proper ones for my new card. Running this card all seemed well at first, I played quite a few games, highly demanding. Then while I was playing one of them my screen went black and the sound sorta buzzt continuously until I turned it off.

I rebooted and it was fine again so I got to stress testing the card, I ran it through some tests and the card crashed the computer again, except this time it wouldn't post at all, and still doesn't now.

I've tried everything I can think of, reseting cmos, updating bios, trying my old graphics (still working with that so it must be the new card) and I don't know what to do now?

My current specs for my pc are as follows:
CPU = 6300 fx
GPU = r9 280x MSI
PSU = 750watt EVGA
motherboard = MSI 970 gaming
RAM = 16gb

Thanks all in advance!

You forgot to mention the case, (aftermarket) cpu cooler(ad any overclocks) and OS you're on as well as the age of your system. Is it as old as the components when they first launched? Can you get into BIOS? If so which version of your BIOS are you on? I'm assuming that the PSU may be culprit since the latter card needs 600W of power to operate. Time can deteriorate the output of a PSU. One other note, your card may be a new purchase but is it under warranty(i.e, is it a used component)?

On the note about resetting CMOS, have you tried removing the CMOS battery and replacing it after 5 mins and then trying to boot up?

P.S: Make and model of both your GPU's please.

The case as far as I'm aware doesn't matter, the CPU is also kinda irrelevant as I know it's definitely the you causing said issue the CPU is fine. I can't reach the bios with this card, however I can with the other card. My other card is the r9 270x. The psu is brand new got it a week ago, and it's more than enough for this system. The card is used, But was completely working.

Yes that's how I reset the cmos,
