R9 280x or gtx 960 2gb?

I am confused about which card to buy.I wish to be able to play 2016 fps games on mid to high settings at1080p. I have a FX 8350 CPU overclocked to 4.6ghz with 8 gb ripjawx ram and Xfx 750 watt psu.
My budget is 240$(17000INR) . R9 is priced at 230$ and gtx 960 at 245$ here.

The 280x will perform better and will consume more power off the wall.

Since your PSU can handle it, go for the r9 280x, its better.

Raw power wise 280X still ahead. Since you have the power supply for it then 280X probably the better option for you.

Since I am gonna be stuck with AMD hardware for sometimes.What about directX 12 gains in future? I read somewhere that R9 280X partially supports DX12 whereas GTX 960 supports most of the Dx12 features.

Even if gtx 960 supports dx12 better, the r9 280x is way faster with partial support.

Right now i'm not going to concerned with DX12 that much. Just look at hitman and the rise of tomb raider dx12 performance. It seems stabiliry wise DX11 still better. For hitman it is quite the norm to see nvidia slower in dx12 because of asnyc compute ia their weakness right now but it is weird to see what happen to 280 ans 380. At the very least 280 have same performance regardless of API being use but 380 actually slower in dx12. And this is not the first. In anandtech test of AoS beta 2 285 (the same card) also have reduce performance in dx12.
