r9 280x Question

I am building a pc and I am using a HIS r9 280x iceq x2 with turbo boost it says I need a 750watt or greater power supply but pc parts picker say I only need about a 550 watt power supply...... do I actually need a 750 watt psu or will something like 600-700 work?

A decent 550W psu will be fine. You do not necessarily need a 750W psu.

I tried using a 600w power supply to feed my R9 280x Dual X, and it wasn't enough to keep it stable. I upgraded to a 750w and now have no issues with the card. Mind you mine is a factory overclock, so it might be more hungry.
