I currently have the R9 295X2 plugged into the ASUS PB287Q.

Running a fresh and fully updated version of windows 8.1 as well as the newest recommended AMD drivers from AMD's website.

The R9 only has Mini Display Port therefor I purchased a 4K @ 60hz Startech compatible Mini displayport to Display Port adapter to plug in the monitor.

None of the FAQ and answers from AMD's 4K @ 60hz page solved my issue.

It shows that I am able to change it to 60hz via Desktop Properties in AMD catalyst control center and even during screen resolution modifications via the desktop.
But I simply get a black screen, it then sais No Signal Display Port and then reverts back to 30hz.
The R9 295X2 is compatible of running 4K @60hz. Drivers are updated.
Monitor is set to appropriate 1.2 setting.

Still am not getting 60hz, the Startech adapter I am using is 4K + 2K - 60hz compatible

Try older drivers I had same issue. But I was just using a mini dp to dp cable. Also windows 8.1 for me at least hates the 295 I went back to 7 and experience less issues.

The issue is the XFX card I have didn't come with a Mini Display Port to Display Port adapter so I had to go and buy one. So I am not sure if its just the adapter or maybe the cable that came with the ASUS 4K monitor is only a 1.1 Display Port Cable??? would that make a difference? I don't think that cable is the issue tho.

I am also having a hard time trying to find a MiniDisplay Port to DisplayPort cable that doesn't require an adapter but is just 1 cable with two different connector ends.

I believe youve been had and that adapter doesnt support 60hz. If it did, it wouldnt black screen on the 60hz port. You also have to be sure to have an hdmi adapter with around 20+ gigs pass through. Any less than that will also cause a black screen.

You sure you're connected on a 60hz hdmi port? I dont see anywhere in the description for that adapter that states it supports 60hz.

If it does, I'll order one right now. This will resolve my issue with my 295x2 if so...
