I would get the rx480. It's better and consumes a lot less power.

I think your budget is the decider. But that aside, The RX480 is the overall better performer

the R9 is a better Price for Performance buy they are fairly close in performance, but the RX480 just has NEWTECH Edge sort of speak. r9 is sitll a good card. If you feel to save 60$, then that's your call, I think you should be happy with either of those cards (maybe you could list the SPECIFIC r9 that you are looking at)

its a sapphire r9 390 vs msi armor 480 the cheaper 480 basically

The performance is nowhere near worth the 60 dollar difference.
Get the 390. At 1080p you are paying 60 dollars for 4% improvements, at 1440p and above the 480 lacks an edge.

yea that's what I was thinking I only play games like rust, for honor when it comes out, and ghost recon. mostly triple as at 1080p
