i woke up today to find out my HDMI comeing out of my MSI r9 390 OC edition was fried! i used my pc all last night shut it off went to bed woke up. and nothing. i swapped the HDMI cables and boom it works! NOW im haveing a diffrent problem. when i move a program around on the screen the TEXT is VERY blurry for split seconds. then it sharpens up. when i move to my second monitor. my cursor is very slow. and slugish. even dragging a window over there is slow. it was not doing this last night when i was useing my pc just fine.. ive tried MULTIPLE things. as labled.

verifyed the HRZ of both monitors.

both monitors are in 1080P

tried reseating ( diffrent slow on mobo ) my GPU tried diffrent PCIE powers off PSU

downloaded the newest driver. and installed it

tried diffrent ports on the GPU itself.

lowed clockspeed of GPU

ive never had this problem befor and im comeing down to thinking that maybe my GPU somehow broke itself? if this is the case. she will be in a box and on its way to MSI for RMA. im dreading the reformat of my pc. complete reinstall of windows. but i dont think that is the problem in this case. as its monitor / GPU lagg ive fiddled with it all morning with no success. HOPEFULLY i can get it fixed...

another note. i can unplug 1 monitor and the blurryness is still there on monitor via HDMI.. even with a brand new HDMI cord.. tried running 2 DVI out - HDMI in to monitors also. with no luck the same outcome blurry / lagg to second monitor.. i would love to get this sorted out so i can get back gaming!

Solution

Ya, I would troubleshoot the monitor and if isn't the problem than its more than likely a gpu problem. Could be a defective GPU or maybe burnt out from overclocking (I say that because you mention you had lowered the clockspeed which makes it sound like it was overclocked before). You can also try cleaning out your graphics card and test it to see if it's overheating or anything like that.

going to maybe trouble shoot my monitors. my graphics card only has HDMI - DVI doesnt have the VGA i think maybe one of my monitors could be going? would that cause stuff like this to happen?

SO UPDATE i did manage to troubleshoot my monitors! and one of them ended up to be fried! only putting out 30 hrz to the monitor itself. instead of its normal 60
