Which would be better for 1440p gaming? I know that extra vram would be useful for 1440p, but ive also heard that nvidia cards are better for minecraft. I would either get the MSI 970 or the MSI 390. It would be paired with an i7 4790k. Which one is the better choice?
I would play other games as well but Minecraft is the majority of what i play.

Ok good lets take battlefield 4 for example. For 1080p you would need a r9 270 to run it pretty well on high with 2xMSAA or triliniear ( not very noticeable) but for 1440p and an enjoyable experience, you should definetly get a r9 390 or even the 390x if you are playing games such as crisis 3, the witcher 3 or even GTA V. But for most games even a 280x would do practically every game on high with 2xMSAA or trilinear
I really hope your joking. Both of those cards are overkill for minecraft. For 1080p you could even get a r7 240 but for 1440p get a r9 270x 2gb to get 60fps on minecraft. But if the most graphics heavy game you are doing is Minecraft then get the 270x but if you are getting games like battlefield 4 get a r9 390, it's better then the gtx in almost everyday. Don't waste your money on a 1440p monitor seriously. I really hope your joking

sorry didnt clarify. I will be playing more demanding games. Minecraft is just my what i play the most. I want to know which is the better choice for 1440p. But since i play minecraft alot i wanted to be sure neither would cause problems while playing that since ive heard amd has caused chunk loading issues in some cases.
