Hey everyone, I've been looking for a solution for this for a few days now and I've tried a lot of things to get my computer to work, and I'm really hoping it isn't a broken video card. The computer runs fine, nothing seems out of the ordinary until I start playing any video game. After that the screen will go black and eventually my computer will freeze on the black monitor. I have to force shut it off. It seems that when the graphics card exceeds 1850MhZ it crashes. This only started recently and I can't remember anything that I did to the graphics card drivers or anything that could have effected this. I was receiving atikmsag.sys bsod the day before but now it just simply freezes. Is my graphics card dead?

Computer Specs:

i7-6700 3.4ghz
16gb ram (corsair, can't remember what specifically)
ASRock Z170 pro4 (just updated bios last night, still having issues)
My Xfx r9 390x Video card
Samsung EVO SSD.
Windows 7 64 bit.

Solution
Sorry for this, try this one, go to device manager, Display adapter, right click, properties, driver, and forbidden it... you resolution should drop, so try the game while you forbidden the driver, if it's running try updating your video card drivers, and if that didn't help. Probably your video card is broken.
