Captain Obvious points out a new addition to the Radeon Line, The R9600SE!

The Captain says it has a 325Mhz GPU, 200Mhz 64bit DDR memory.

Performance wise it is going to suck hard with a 64 bit bus *shudders*. But if they make it nice and cheap then it will be a good low end card. It'll actually be the first low end card with real dx9 support. There could be a market for this, providing they keep it nice and cheap. If it's about the same price of a, say, fx 5200, then ATI could be on to something here. Of course, if this card is just slightly cheaper than a regular 9600, than this card should be avoided at all costs.

The fact that Spitfire already had it in his chart long before this, and GW and I talked about it previously GW even had pictures in <A HREF="http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=370785#370785" target="_new">His thread</A> (now pics moved from Guru's front page), all of which makes it even more obvious!

Keep up the good work of living up to your name. :tongue:

BTW, link to the actual pics, this article will move off the front page, just like GW's in the thread above, whereas <A HREF="http://www.hardocp.com/image.html?image=MTA2NzI3NTUyNlc1YVZWRWZLQUlfMV8yX2wuanBn" target="_new">THIS link</A> will always take you to the R9600SE picture, until [H] removes the page (long after the article leaves the front page).

Just some obvious advice for the man who'd appreciate it most.

You missed the obvious fact that this will confuse customers into buying junk and sour their attitudes toward ATI for life! Or that a more obvious name might be Radeon 9400.
