which is the better card for gaming?

The radeon 7000 has 64mb ddr and the 7200 has 64mb sdr so I would think the 7000 is better...but then why does the 7200 have a higher number for a name?

The ATI 8500 64MB DDR (not LE version) if on a budget. Leadtek Ti 4200 cost about $35 more but better. ATI 9700 Pro to go all the way. That is, don't go below ATI 8500 for gaming. Good day!

They're both pretty bad for gaming. I wouldn't recommend anything below a geforce 3 or a Radeon 8500. Right now the best bang for the buck is a Geforce 4 ti 4200. If that's out of your price range then I recommend either a geforce 3 or a Radeon 8500. If those are out of your price range, then do not expect to be able to play many recent games.

Radeon 7200 is better. Radeon 7000 ddr is 64-bit while 7200 sdr is 128-bit so memory bandwidth is the same. Radeon 7200 has a t&l unit & two texture units. Radeon 7000 has no t&l and only one texture unit.
