Radeon and WinME installation

I've had no luck installing the Radeon 32mb DDR card on two different computers. In each case I first installed the Std PCI VGA adapter, rebooted, then ran the ATI Easy Install. On each computer I got a Windows Protection Error.

On the first computer, I erased the disk and installed the card successfully with 98SE instead of WinME. Then I successfully upgraded 98 to WinME. On the second computer, I'll have to try the same.

The first computer was a PIIIeb 933 on an ASUS board and the second one is an Athlon 1G on a Microstar K7T Pro 2A.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong or is this ATI or Windows related?

Stay with 98se. The only thing winME does better than 98 is run netscape. It's ironic but true. And it boots up a couple seconds faster, but over all it hogs more ram and decreases system performance. It's not an upgrade to winME more of a side grade slightly sloping down.

"Are you saying that I can dodge bullets?"

Any luck yet?

I have the microstar K7T Pro2-A and Tbird 900 mhz., and I am having the same problem.

There is another thread going on where more people have responded about this same problem. You might want to catch up on that.
