i hate to be that guy who says your hardware is out of date but your hardware is out of date. if memory serves me correct, that PCI E slow if 1st gen and only run at 8x. i would advise stepping up the board and CPU first.

also, saying HD 7XXX is very broad. they range in greatly in price and power. the lowest spec HD 7XXX series will probably work out OK. same goes for R7

if you are hell bent on keeping this set up, this will probably work for you: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127763

Any others cards

I think that card might fit in my motherboard PCI-E x16 SLOT (basing on GPU size)

Bottleneck suspect??

If you want to upgrade your video card,Maybe you should upgrade your PSU first.
Video card prefer:GTX650,HD7770,GTX750.
Well, your cpu is too old, video card i well choose GTX750,about PSU I will choose 400w bronze.

I have Aspire Gaming Series 420W PSU will that work

i was planning only go for eitehr Radeon HD 7750 or R7 250

HD7750 and R7 250 are same chip.You should buy a cheaper one.I think HD7750 is cheaper than R7 250.
Maybe I will go GTX650.Performance:7750=R7 250<GTX650<HD 7770<GTX750
