I am using a TP-Link Deco wifi 6 mesh system (Deco X20) to get wifi throughout my house. I have frontier fiber 500 mbps service. I use iptv for my tv entertainment. I am trying out some different iptv services and have never had any issues. I have one that I really like and I would like to purchase but for some reason it freezes, not buffering, every so often. I am using a Nvidia Shield Pro. I switched to a google chrome to see if still freezes and it does. I think I have it down to the wifi router causing the issue. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this issue?

It is likely because you have a mesh system. You even in the very best case now have 2 radio signals rather than just 1 that can get interference and drop data. In addition mesh systems that do not have dedicated radio chips for communicating back to the main router actually interfere with themselves since they use the same radio to talk to end users as well as relay the data back to the main router.

Many times a single router with a weaker signal may perform better than a mesh system that has more signal strength but more data loss. A signal router should in theory be more than enough for almost all houses. The actual cause of poor wifi coverage is not that the router is not strong enough to cover the house it is more all your neighbor routers also send signal into yur house....and of course they are all using mesh systems adding even more interfering signals.

My guess is most your issue is because you improperly installed the remote mesh units. They do not go in the remote rooms like some of the simple diagrams indicate. They need to be placed where they can get very strong signal from the main router an still provide a good signal to the remote room. If it was some massive open room it would be 1/2 way. When you have walls/ceilings etc involved it is all trial and error for placement.

Now if your problem is that one internet site does not work and others do then none of the above applies. The wifi network in your house has no concept of IP addresses or internet so it should have the same issue no matter which site you are going to.

A sluggish net connection can lead to freezing. Use speed test online to ensure you are getting the necessary velocity for IPTV. if your speeds are sluggish, try rebooting your modem.

Wifi mesh systems are not that great for streaming. Its a very flaky technology that delivers somewhat adequate wifi.

Even a cheap netgear router from walmart out beats them typically.
