Radeon M260 vs M265

Hi,

I've just taken delivery of a new Inspiron 5000 I7 laptop. It was supposed to ship with a 2gb Radeon M265 graphics card, however it is showing as a 2gb M260 in device manager and Catalyst centre.

Can anyone tell me if the one it should've shipped with (M265) is better than the M260 (the name would suggest it's a later version), I've done some research but still none the wiser. Wondering whether I should go back to Dell.

Looking on AMD's website tells me that your graphics is from the R7 line of products, in which the M260 appears to be better than the M265.

After further research I think they are very similar, as your link would suggest too.

This website comparison has the M265 as the better of the 2.

I think the main difference may be the memory bandwidth, the M260 in my laptop is showing at 14.4 gb/s, not sure if that would be any different in the M265. The link above suggests that the M265 should be 32 gb/s.

I've emailed Dell support to ask them, so I'll wait and see what they suggest.
