Question Radiator Fans Into motherboard or Nzxt Smart Device

Should I plug in my Ml240r fans directly into the nzxt smart device or the motherboard cpu_opt header. I know that the cpu pump is also just a regular pwm connection which should be plugged into the motherboard directly

Directly to MB header, computer may not even start without sensing that there's no CPU_Fan connected.

Should I then ditch the smart device and plug the included fans into the motherboard?
