Radio on computer off

My wireless won't work due it saying radio is off. I have went to menu of my wireless says radio off. There no place to turn it on. I have checked no switch on computer itself. Tried looking for it in software. Its a asus laptop. Has windows 7 and intel core 13. screen says intel my wifi technology. Disabled because the hardware radio switch is off. Turn on the hardware radio switch to enable Intel My WiFi Technology on your computer. any ideas what to try step by step please.

Check the device manager to see if somehow or another the driver for the wireless card was disabled.

forgive me I'm not the brightest person on this granted I have fixed others issues for wireless but can't fix my own. Under device manager I looked under network adapters I see Intel(R)WiFi Link 1000 BGN , Microsoft virtual wifi miniport adapter, Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter #2, Atheros AR8131 PCI-E Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20)
Check all they state This device is working properly. not sure if in correct area. Like said not educated in this area my x husband was brains on these things I learn some but not enough from him.

I assume it is a laptop, there is probably a separate physical switch somewhere on the laptop that needs to be moved to on, if you do not see it give us a maker and model and perhaps we can help locate it,
