I had a system built. Windows 10 AMD. I have 2 X 1 TB SSD's With RAID 1 setup . When I boot up it shows a text message on computer screen saying "Array is critical R/W) " etc. It then goes through ok to Windows 10. I then leave it for a while, maybe an hour max, and then I restart the computer (NOTE I do not shutdown I simply "restart") . and then it will either comes back to "Normal" message on 1st or 2nd restart. HOWEVER after I get normal several times, if I actually SHUTDOWN the computer the message comes back to "array has critical error R/W) and go through same loop, back to normal etc. SO the question is "why would shutting down cause the array to go into Critical" ?.

Thanks for any educated replies.

Yes I know which drive. I have initialized again (after scanning both drives and the result ok) and assigned it to the other drive so now I shall see whether it comes up critical again.

OK I have got the 2 disks showing as "online" in green letters in Raid Bios as a RAID 1. Booted up and showed Critical message again. So left it turned on for 1 hour and rebooted and showed message "Normal" (instead of Critical) ..So for all intents and purposes it is all OK. But now I shut down and then reboot and shows "critical" yet again.

OK just looked in RAID Bios, and instead of both disks showing as "Online" in Green letters Disk 1 shows as "online" and Disk 2 as "Ready" (so it has changed from "online" to "ready" . Why would that be ?.

Could it be that it is showing "Critical" whilst Rebuilding the Disk 2 as mirror ?. 1 tb SSD how long would that take ?.

Table 8. Array States State Description

Normal The Normal state is displayed when everything is functioning correctly.
Ready The Ready state is displayed while an array is being created.

WHY would a disk drop from "Normal" TO "Ready" ?. Both disks show in same array
and in green one shows as "online" and other as "ready" ,whereas before both were
normal.
