Hello, so I recently had an issue. A drive went bad in my Raid 10 setup (6) 2TB Drives. I'm currently using AMD RAIDXpert2 from my MOBO. Anyway, the drive went bad and it took me a few days before I could replace it. I then swapped the drive out and all seemed well.
4 Days later I started getting "medium block errors" and the raid went into an unstoppable check scan. I couldn't use the raid at all during this scan because of how slow it was. The scan was looking like it would take a week to process and having then realized I may have a "punctured raid" I deleted the array, swapped the sata cables on all the drives and powered back up.
On reboot there were 10 offline arrays showing in the manager.. all 500gb a piece. That was odd. I manually went in and deleted all of them. I then initialized a raid 10 array create. After letting it run over night I now see its taking 2-3x as long to build as it did the first time I did it. Like if this keeps up its going to take 80 hours or so when the first time took 24.
Any idea whats going on here?
Thank you so much for any advice.
