raid support?

I have seen 2 versions of the asus a7v333 mobo, one with raid and one without raid ata 133 support. If I only have one hardrive that is ata 133 compatable will the raid support make a difference or am I totally misunderstanding it.

You don't need RAID.

Raid is used to link two or more harddrives together to either increase speed, reliability, or both. If that sounds appealing to you, you'll want a board with RAID,and two hard drives at least.
