RAID0 Volume Inaccessible after resetting ASUS UEFI Bios Settings.

Hello,

I'm in a bit of a mess. I have a gaming right that has a P8P67 Deluxe MB. I have an SSD, and two drives that are RAID0 Striped. As I was attempting to disable some OC settings in my machine, and I somehow managed to reset some BIOS settings. Upon booting back up into windows my D:\ Volume shows as "inaccessible" and prompts to format etc.

A couple of things I noticed -

1) If I go into Advanced BIOS settings > SATA Configuration and change SATA Mode Selection from AHCI to "RAID", upon booting into Windows 8, I get a blue screen.

2) If I do have RAID selected, I have access to the Intel RAID Utility, and it shows my two discs as members of the array, and things still look to be in tact here.

All of this was working fine before, unfortunately I don't remember all of the settings that were may have been changed, and why all of the sudden my RAID volume is. What do I need to do to get access to the volume again?

Please let me know if there is a better sub forum (such as systems) that this should go in, as I'm a new member here. Any help is appreciated.

Others have hit that issue too. Give this a try:

1) With RAID disabled, boot into Windows and start Regedit.exe

2) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\iaStorV

3) In the right-hand column, you should see a value named Start. Double-click this entry and change the data from 1 to 0.

4) Reboot with RAID enabled – Windows should load just fine. Then you can install the appropriate drivers (if needed) for the RAID controller.

Apparently that switch forces Windows to re-detect storage devices at next boot.

Thanks for that recommendation

I am in AHCI mode and I went into the registry to find that is already currently set to "0". Should I be trying a different value?

Anything else that can I try here? The registry value was set to 0 already.

Currently when I attempt to boot Windows 8 with RAID enabled in the BIOS, windows can't load properly.

Wow, okay. That's tricky. Maybe safe mode will boot successfully and allow you to install the correct drivers.
